AllAboutAlpha was founded in 2006 by Christopher Holt, formerly the head of institutional sales for JC Clark, a $400 million Canadian hedge fund manager. Prior to JC Clark, Chris spent 10 years in the management consulting industry with various firms including Ernst & Young. During this time, he worked as both a consultant and research director providing counsel to major clients in the financial services and telecom sectors.
Chris remains the lead author at AllAboutAlpha.com – supported by research associates and frequent guest contributors from across the asset management industry. He is also a sought-after conference moderator, chairman and speaker. In recent years, he has spoken at numerous conferences in Asia, Europe and North America.
A graduate of Duke University, Chris is the former president of the school’s Alumni Association in Canada and the recipient of the Charles Dukes Award, the Alumni Association’s highest award for alumni service. He is also a member of the board of the University Club of Toronto. For 10 years, he acted as a consultant to the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, and has also consulted to the World Bank on projects involving technology and development.
Chris holds an MBA from Duke, a Bachelor of Commerce from Canada’s Queen’s University and the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation. He is also member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Alternative Investments.
